india

It is a shock to the senses with pungent smells of pollution, fires, urine, spices and incense. The sound of constant high pitched car horns blaring in the cities’ chaotic traffic. People, cows and stray dogs casually wandering down streets as if they were the only ones occupying them. A kaleidoscope of color surrounds you with women wearing bold beautiful saris, brightly painted buildings, the abundance of strands of marigolds, various fruits and vegetables being sold by street vendors. India is intense. It is overwhelming at times. A complete one eighty degree turn from any environment I have ever experienced before. And I loved it.

I spent eleven short days in this beautiful country. I left wanting more.

"If you want to know the truth of who you are, walk until not a person knows your name. Travel is the great leveler, the great teacher, bitter as medicine, crueler than mirror-glass. A long stretch of road will teach you more about yourself than a hundred years of introspection." ~ Patrick Rothfuss
